New: a Django biography
Released in November 2004 there is finally an excellent Django biography entitled Django: The Life and Music of a Gypsy. Beside that, we have a few Django Reinhardt tab book noted below.

Django Reinhardt's guitar playing is innovative, creative and graceful. His notes seem to glide and float in melodic fashion giving his music a joyous, thrilling, hypnotic sound. He accomplished his feats whether playing blues or jazz, swing or ragtime, gypsy or bop. He graced and electrified us delightfully, first with his acoustic guitar and then later in his electric guitar phase.  This one of a kind musician yielded one of the most addictive sounds. Be warned that once you start listening to Django's fluid, catchy phases, you'll want to hear every magical note.

That is why we like his music so much. We have additional information about Django in our Guitar Greats, and in our Jazz: Guitar and Piano sections. The links below include a chronological listing of the Django sessions with tracks and band members, and some of the better CD's available.
