There are a few good Stevie Ray Vaughan career overviews. The single disc, The
Real Deal: Greatest Hits Vol. 1 - 2006 , has sixteen
well selected songs. While The
Essential Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble - 2002 is a
superb double disc collection. The latter includes a fair number of live tracks.
Some of the niche style releases are quite good too like the Martin
Scorsese.

is a very good package with excellent song selection, studio and
live tracks, chronological approach, a few key Hendrix covers. I
love the first three tracks of Couldn't Stand the Weather in
sequence as well as "Lenny," no other
compilation has that. Liner notes have photos and
credits, essay is short for a career spanning disc.

There are lots of rare live material and other rarities. Three CD's
and a DVD.
