Us
and Them: Symphonic Pink Floyd review
Us and Them: Symphonic
Pink Floyd is the London Philharmonic
Orchestra performing ten Pink Floyd songs from their Dark
Side of the Moon and The Wall
albums. The performances are instrumental where they sometimes
use an assortment of horns and other times string instruments to
cover the vocal sections. I do not listen to much classical music, but to
my ears this sounds quite good. All three of the tracks
from The Wall work exceptionally well, with "Another
Brick in the Wall" led by great string playing.
The overall tone of the listening experience of Us and
Them: Symphonic Pink Floyd is that the performances of the
songs have less intensity than they way Pink Floyd performs them,
and they have a more relaxing feel.
This is an excellent
classical album of some of Pink Floyd's finest songs. Barry Small ©
