Skynyrd - All Time Greatest Hits review
Lynyrd Skynyrd's All
Time Greatest Hits has more than 75 minutes of great music. Of
their two most popular songs "Sweet Home Alabama," and
"Free Bird," they had choices to select either the studio
or live version. My view is that they made the great choices in both
cases. While the live version of "Sweet Home Alabama" is
equally as good, the studio version that is included is a classic.
They included the live version of "Free Bird"; it is much
better than it's studio counterpart. The song is improved in all
aspects, the opening ballad, the jam, and the song conclusion.
Another good decision in the song selection from this fourteen song
disc is to include four tracks from their best album, Street
Survivors, a good ratio.
We can perhaps argue that
this song or that song is a better choice than something that was
included. What is certain is that all of these songs are super. If
you are looking for a one-disc collection of Lynyrd Skynyrd music,
this is the best one. by Barry Small ©
