View From The Vault II - review

View From the Vault II is from the Grateful Dead’s live concert recorded on June 14, 1991, at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C.  It represents the full show and includes bonus coverage.

Bruce Hornsby sure added life to the band in his short tenure with the band. It seemed that the band was more relaxed with him there. Perhaps with his vast abilities it took pressure off of everyone else from having to do so much. It is evident in this video that they were having fun. Bruce Hornsby even throws in a Jerry Lee Lewis imitation during “Lovelight by playing some riffs with his foot.

This release also features two “Dark Stars.” One from the featured show; the other from the July 12, 1990, bonus material.

If you don’t have a DVD player, the CD is worthwhile.  by Barry Small ©
