Much of the sound of the
Grateful Dead at different stages of their career is a reflection of
the personnel, and the albums (or lack of), released during the period.
Some of the major recordings that are Non-vault and Dick's Picks
from this period are noted below. Some live albums are
included as the Grateful Dead would release a live recording in lieu
of a studio album that would include a number of previously
unreleased songs typically a combination of original and
covers. They are:
