Cream is no doubt legendary
and rightly so. But honestly, Cream recorded as many average to bad
songs as good ones among their four studio albums. If you want to
avoid the clunkers The Very Best of Cream is an outstanding
collection that summarizes their career in a fairly definitive
manner, which includes their original songs and several blues covers
they played extremely well, such as Howlin' Wolf's Sitting on Top
of the World.
There has been many
previous compilations of Cream previously released such as the
twelve track CD Strange Brew: The Very Best of Cream;
Conversely, this album contains twenty songs. Unless you are
planning to collect all of the studio releases The Very Best of
Cream is the obvious choice. ~
