Clapton Chronicles:
Best of 1981-1999
Eric Clapton Chronicles covers the
later part of his career, 1981 through 1999. During this period it
is our opinion that there were two outstanding album releases, Unplugged
and From the Cradle. There
are no songs from the later album on this release. This era was
primarily pop oriented and this collection captures his major songs
from the period. Even
though several songs from Unplugged appear on this release it
is not a substitute for it, but a complement.
While Clapton’s early
years can barely be captured on four discs as displayed on his
retrospective Crossroads, only
one CD is needed for this period.
