On Tour Together
Summer 1986
Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead shared the bill for five
concerts during the summer of 1986. Dylan was backed by
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I saw the show in
Akron, OH and the fans were much more interested in hearing the
Grateful Dead, hardly cheering after the Dylan set, which did not
stop him from performing an encore. At that show, Dylan joined
the Grateful Dead during the first set for two tracks, "Don't
Think Twice It's Alright," and "Baby Blue."
